pandemic restrictions clearly impacting the offerings this year. understandable

Xbox- twelve minutes looked good. nothing else really interesting. ton of shooters. starfield revealed you sit in a chair...i guess? earth shattering stuff.

square - guardians looks dope. team ninja FF despite the CHAOS MEMES will be good. FF 1-6 will be rad once they hit switch a year or so after the mobile launch. avengers might be a good value in a few more years.

my standard for these marketing events is if theres one game im interested in its mostly a win so im mostly positive about the events so far.

square had more that was to my tastes but shooters are hot as a always so i imagine most people see RAY TRACING 120 FPS and get hard so i think the majority of people are coming out of microsofts presentation pretty happy.

The final fantasy games are already on mobile so what is this? What does "pixel remaster" actually mean?

Also Garland is neat, but literally everything else about Final Fantasy Origins looks mad generic to me.

Not completely sold on GoG. Gameplay looks a bit stiff. Still looks fun though. It already has more variety than Avengers.

my guess for 1-6 will be the 2d/3d style..reworking sprites etc

team ninja always delivers tight combat experiences so they have my full confidence

GoG combat looked really good to me. i dunno.

also didnt mention Eiyuden chronicles. its multiplat/multigen though so not a +1 for microsoft. looks stellar though.

This has been the most underwhelming E3 I can remember. They have shown a few games I will play (Wonderlands, FF, Forza Horizon 5, couple others) but it's all either stuff that they've shown before or tiny snippets of things we all knew were going to get announced at some point. No real surprises.

I'm gonna go ahead and say Nintendo shows the New Switch. More on BotW2, which will probably be an "enhanced" launch title for the New Switch. They'll finally show off a bit more of Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3 and one of them will get a release date. New Mario Kart, although I'm not sure if it'll be part 9 or Super Mario Kart 8 Deluxe GT special edition. That'll be the important stuff. It'll be the best presentation this E3 probably. But nothing surprising.

it was given that this e3 would be weak given how difficult working conditions have been. no one should be shocked.


on top of that its better to use the eye balls that e3 draws to push smaller titles and have the games that can draw on their own released in their own via the companies youtube/twitter accounts. e3 isnt exactly needed or even a boon to the larger announcements.

nintendo crushing it as always. tons of titles. lots of rpgs. new 2d metroid. zelda for holiday 22. i think i marked 7 games with firm release dates on my calender. absolutely stacked line up with another hand full that dont have dates yet that are firm buys for me. stellar direct. nintendo doing their usual on focusing on the next quarter is the best way to go.

I basically took their E3 showcase as something that replaced a Nintendo Direct honestly. They do not need to show everything in one sitting nor does that go with how they operate.

oh for sure. this was this quarters direct. set us up into the fall. they basically just let e3 costream the same direct that would have dropped regardless if the show existed or not.

Might have to finally score myself a Switch when the fall rolls around. Grab the new Zeldas, Metroid, and a some of the other gems.

Nothing crazy on Xbox. Starfield looks neat, but I ain't going to buy an X just for that. Even though Outer Worlds 2 was announced, not getting a box for that. First game was good, but it could have been soooooooo much better.

Meanwhile, I apparently have to keep my promise I made to the ether and buy a Switch, because Advance Wars 1+2.

I'm part of the niche that loves that but not on the Fire Emblem bandwagon, so the least I can do is support this project, and hopefully there will be some sort of way they can remaster/rework Dual Strike to work around the two screen DS gimmick. But that's in a far flung potential future. This is going to be a thing right before Christmas.

And the Playstation Japan Twitter account accidently released the news of Sony getting their hands on Bluepoint Games. Masters of the remaster and the crew who handled Demon's Souls for PS5.

Busy week for Sony. Went and grabbed another studio.

Sony purchases Dutch studio Nixxes Software. They're known for their PC port work with Square Enix. They've also handled the PC ports of Horizon: Zero Dawn and Days Gone.

Ah so that's why Nintendo didn't announce the "new switch" at E3. Because it's not even really an upgrade. Assassin's Creed is going to take on a live service format. It's not going to be like Destiny, Division, or games like that. It's still going to be very single player focused. But instead of buying a whole new game you'll buy one and get content drops including different timelines to explore.

Some people may not like this, but for me, it's great news. I've said this before, but the games are just too fucking long. Beautifully designed worlds, but much of the map looks the same. Ubisoft is the undisputed king of reusing assets in open world games. Gameplay is great, but there's only so many times you can do the same stuff over and over again.

I think smaller more frequent content drops is the way to go, in keeping things fresh. All that said, we've seen plenty of live service games fall on their faces in recent years, so at the same time, this could be a disaster.

Yeah..... I'm skeptical but hopeful. I wish they would work in a system where you could still play if you don't have a network connection. Just an outside factor keeping me from playing what I paid for. I dunno, usually live service requires an "always on" connection which isn't a problem 90% of the time.


Also wonder how long it would be sustainable from a "technical" standpoint. I'm cautiously optimistic, as the games are indeed way too fucking long.


Valhalla fucked me up because I couldn't really tell if I was done with the last mission or not..... since shit went on well after the "ending scene".

Excitedly awaiting the Diablo II Remaster on my Xbox. Got it pre-ordered and the beta starts in August.


Keep going back to Monster Hunter to help low level hunters or harder high level hunts. Can't get anyone to help me with Alatreon or Fatalis tho. Those are the only two I've yet to take out.
