I love Bryan as much as the next but he’s done the whole fake seizure spot repeatedly since he got cleared to return in 2018. It makes me cringe every time and not in the way that makes me think he actually got hurt. Glad they can do away with that.

I'm actually interested to see how Mox changes with these rules. Didn't he basically leave WWE because of very similar rules and not being allowed to do all this crazy violent shit he likes to do? And now AEW is gonna have the same rules. If they box him in he might end up going right back to WWE when his contracts up. I imagine they'll throw a bag at him for another shield reunion.

I'm sure that's the case too. I have a feeling these rules were put out for the public to try and shut up people who talk about AEW not being safe. They won't actually be applied imo. It will be business as usual and they'll just claim they approved any spot if they get questioned about it.

I heard a version of the new rules and thought “This is WDB fucking AEW on their way out.” Just because I didn’t hear the “approved by a coach” thing. It all makes sense. It’s embarrassing for them it got to a point that they’re making it a document, because you’d think this sense would be “common.” But approval by a coach means that Blood & Guts can have blood because…as advertised.

It’s just what they should have done from the start. Only Sting and Chris Jericho get to use the bat. Which no one else was doing, but sure.

It’s a bit of a non-story actually. The only part that actually affects the talent is stuff like unnecessary risks, flips, weapon spots in underneath matches, bumps on the apron, etc.

It sounds haphazardly written. I haven’t read through it, but heard it recounted. Do they really forbid chair shots to the head (which isn’t en vogue anyway) then later ban unapproved chairs? Why not just require chairs be approved, then the first point becomes redundant because they could just not approve it?

It's just a new company finding these things as they go. Like any other company in the world top people get leeway and the rules are suited to the biases or experiences of the moment or those setting the rules.

I would imagine if anyone top of card wants to do almost anything they can same way CEOs fly business class while staff fly economy.

I was thoroughly disappointed in the Blood and Guts match. I'm genuinely over Mox's blood lust and usage of dumb props. It makes the whole concept come across as second rate. Not to mention the bed of nails was probably one of the dumbest ideas in recent times.

As someone who admires Kota Ibushi a lot, I was also underwhelmed by how off he was. I understand that he hasn't wrestled in a while and has nagging injuries but he looked incredibly drunk in the way he carried himself in the ring. It was just sad.
