Some good episodes of "Barry" this season... whole season wasn't the best, but a couple of "classic" eps! Finale was very good and the motorcycle one...

Have had a bunch of episodes of "The Goldbergs" on my DVR for awhile.... watched a couple... suuuuuuper awkward with Jeff Garlin being removed from the show... episode about the daughter's wedding and her dad reduced to an uncanny valley cameo made of old footage/sound bites and body double cut off by awkward framing and camera angles.....

Ran out of great shows to watch so I started “Police Squad!” again.
I fell asleep recently when I tried to watch it for the first time in decades so I’m giving it another crack while I’m awake. The sight gags are always good but the wordplay kills me. “Cigarette?” “Yes, I know.” I hope it’s still better than The Naked Gun, those movies leant heavily into the slapstick and the ratio was a bit off between that and the jokes. As far as I remember there are more gag routines in this. |

I started “Barry” too. I saw the first two episodes. Episode two made me laugh for ages when the guy files Stephen Root’s teeth. I was cracking up at that, horrific but hilarious.

I forgot about the bit at the credits where they “freeze frame” but really they just stay still in a goofy pose.
It’s the simple things like that which make it a classic. |

“The Man Who Fell To Earth” started out much better than the film but the longer it has gone on the more insufferably familiar to the film it has become.
It’s the same huge potential wasted in slightly different ways but this time it’s worse because there was actual quality in this one. I understand the story is about humanity corrupting Newton, but now they’re just rubbing it in. |

Finished off Lost in Space in Netflix. Good stuff. Wish it went longer.
Moving on to The Old Man over on FX. Start binge watching that On Demand. |

I haven’t seen the movie yet.
I watched the episode where The Baron wakes up and wants to have a night on the town yesterday and was laughing so hard I got a headache. |

Movie is great. You should try and watch it before you get to the end of the first season.
But I agree the show has surpassed it at this point. |

It’s the funniest comedy out right now. There’s nothing that has that high a laugh count.
The cameos are always fantastic too. It just keeps getting better, every season is top drawer. It should hopefully be back on soon actually. |

Primal season 2 is up and running.
Who knew a caveman screaming, a dinosaur roaring, and great music would make for an awesome show. |

Watched the season finale of The Old Man.
I kinda saw the twist coming. But I wish it went just one more episode to tie a couple things up. 7 is just an odd number of episodes for a season. |

Episode four of WWDITS is one of the best ever.
Joyously daft with the Vampire night market and the familiar fighting championship. That’s the best of the new season but episode 3 was pretty great. Little Colin Robinson is phenomenal. He’s already ten times better than Groot or Grogu. |

Watched the first episode of Paper Girls on Amazon Prime.... maybe the most faithful comic book adaptation I have seen... characters literally look exactly like their comic counterparts

Second episode starting to diverge from the comic a bit, but the characters still feel like the characters

Finished the season of Paper Girls (8 episodes). Really enjoyed it... diverged from the comic a lot, but still felt genuine to the spirit and to the characters....
Hope it gets a season 2... "fear the worst" for it because it is on Amazon Prime and was all released at once... |

Always Sunny is very funny every now and then but it’s hit and miss overall.
I liked it a lot when I got to the later seasons but the last couple were mediocre. I need a much higher standard of performance if the material is going to be so predictable and weak. 2.5/4 |
