Jushin Liger is an internationally known superstar the last 20-25 years.

Alex Riley is barely a blip on the radar here let alone internationally.

If you walked by 30 people on the street and asked whether they knew Jushin Liger or Alex Riley they would say "No"

But if you walked past 50 people I think 2 might know who Liger is, as opposed to the 0 who know Riley.

What number of people would it take to find a person that knew Alex Riley?

100? 1000? 10000?

Are we sure Alex Riley hasn't had too many concussions and should be locked away fro his own health? Corey Graves can't wrestle any more because his brain only works like 85%, but comparing the two Twitter accounts, I'd never be able to tell.

Over the past week I've caught up on the past 3 months of TNA, and its a shame they may be on the verge of going tits up.....some great stuff in the "Best Of 5 Series" between The Dirty Heels & The Wolves, EC3's rise to TNA Champion, crazy EY ripping of a prostestic leg and his metamorphosis in general and an intriguing female group in The Dollhouse..... but they then take 10 steps back in the Mickie/Storm/Magnus feud, The Rising/Beatdown Clan clusterfuck and the over use of gimmick matches

Or it could be referencing Balor, the guy who succeeded where Riley failed.

Not sure how watching the Attitude Era equips him better than a career in Japan.

Very likely related to a lot of his stuff having to be edited out of upcoming TNA shows because of Hernandez's recent stupidity.

The 2015 TNA Bound for Glory PPV this October will emanate from the Charlotte, North Carolina area, PWInsider.com has learned.

TNA President Dixie Carter teased an announcement was coming soon about the PPV, as well as a new interactive Fan Experience that would take place that weekend.
Was speculated for a while that Slammaversary was likely going to be the last big show TNA was ever going to be able to do.

I'm waiting for The Young Bucks to jump on this new "Indy Wars" with national, well financed promotions and do doubleshots in one night

It's really fascinating what's going on behind the scenes now. Lots of moves being made. Competition and alliances really heating up

This is the best time to be a fan in the last 10 years, imo. It's going to be great to watch in the ring and follow behind-the-scenes
ROH, Dragon Gate, and Evolve's Gabe Sapolsky on all the recent stuff involving possible WWE deals and the Wednesday Night Wrestling War. One potential big downside though is the Observer thinks ROH could lose out on their NJPW deal if the WWE gets too close to NJPW or tries to push ROH out as part of their terms.

We noted yesterday that the WWE NXT "Takeover: Brooklyn" event set for SummerSlam weekend saw major success with the Ticketmaster pre-sale on Thursday. The event has already sold more tickets than the previous record for NXT, which was 4,700 for the WrestleMania 31 week live event in San Jose.

It's about those young men and women who want a future in this company. For those waiting for my return I appreciate it but let's focus on what's going on right now. I've had my time and it's over so it seems but there's an abundance of talent on the main roster for them to pay attention too. Just let it go."

As we reported earlier this week, Hernandez has been released by TNA Wrestling after a contractual dispute occurred between the company and Lucha Underground.

PWInsider reports that Hernandez was hired after a strong recommendation by MVP to be added to his BDC stable. TNA management went along with the request and brought him in.

TNA sources told PWInsider that Hernandez told the company he was free from any contractual obligations to Lucha Underground. TNA made him sign an agreement saying that he presented himsel as a free agent.

Lucha Underground sources said that Hernandez asked for his release, which was in the works, but didn't go through. The company was fine with him taking outside bookings, but didn't want him to appear on another company's television until after Ultima Lucha, which airs on August 5. Hernandez instead told TNA he had a verbal release and provided documentation that they were in contact.

TNA told Hernandez they would be glad to use his footage if he wanted to pursue legal action, but when the deadline they gave him came and went, they released him from the promotion. TNA told PWInsider that they offered Lucha Underground money to use the scenes they'd already filmed with Hernandez, but Lucha Underground is denying that ever happened.

As of this writing, no WWE Divas Title match has been announced for Sunday's Battleground pay-per-view. WWE had planned to do Paige vs. Nikki Bella as of two weeks ago but that's before the angle with the NXT Divas was done on RAW.

Speaking of Sunday's Battleground pay-per-view in St. Louis, as of Wednesday, WWE had sold just 10,500 tickets for the 14,600-seat setup. This would be the weakest advance for a regular WWE pay-per-view this year, not counting Elimination Chamber which was originally a live event in a smaller venue, and not promoted like a pay-per-view.

SPOILER: show
As noted, The Undertaker will be on WWE RAW next week, the night after Battleground, to begin the build to a major SummerSlam match this August.

Right now, there is no word on who the Deadman is scheduled to face, but there has been some rumor of a Brock Lesnar rematch. The Lesnar match was thought to possibly be at next year’s WrestleMania PPV, but could be pushed up to next month’s show as a part of this huge weekend, which will include NXT Takeover, SummerSlam and WWE RAW all in the same building.

We also reported that Sting is expected to return to WWE TV in time for SummerSlam, as WWE has plans to use “The Vigilante” at this year’s big PPV.

According to F4WOnline.com, it has been confirmed that both The Undertaker and Sting are expected to be wrestling matches at SummerSlam.
Regarding the surprises planned for Summerslam and the post-Battleground episode of RAW.
SPOILER: show
Based on speculation around the net, Sting probably was going to face Rusev at Summerslam before Rusev got hurt causing plans to get changed.

During a recent appearance on The Buzz with Jimmy Traina” to promote Sunday’s WWE Battleground PPV, Seth Rollins was asked why he no longer uses the Curb Stomp as his finisher and he had the following to say:

“It was a decision that was collectively made from a PR standpoint. Curb stomp just seemed like it was too perceptually violent, I guess you would say. I never hurt anyone with it. It was just something we didn’t want kids trying on each other.”

As noted, WWE NXT General Manager William Regal announced during last night’s NXT TV tapings that Japanese wrestling legend Jushin “Thunder” Liger will be facing Tyler Breeze at the NXT Takeover Brooklyn special on August 22nd.

According to F4WOnline.com, the announcement of Liger at Takeover is a controversial one, as Liger and New Japan Pro Wrestling have ties to ROH, and several NJPW stars will be working the ROH Field of Honor event also taking place in NYC on August 22nd.

The report also notes significant behind-the-scenes moves are being made regarding the NXT and ROH relationship, and they’re moves which reportedly have nothing to do with NJPW.

Regal on how he managed to get Liger to show up for the next NXT special.

Apparently the WWE's been feuding with ROH ever since NXT starting touring and them trying to block indie events from happening on Mania weekend.

Why is WWE a whore when it comes to mainstream media, but even if you watched all their product you'd have no idea Cena was in Trainwreck? I understand it's an R rated movie, but I don't get it.

Goes against what they have build and portrayed as Cena's character in the WWE.

Either that, they didn't help fund the film, or the studio itself didn't pay them any ad money to promote it.

Can we change the thread title of the "R.I.P. Rusev" thread to "#LOLRIPTNA"? I don't think it's fair to the company, or their 3 remaining fans, to leave it in it's misery any longer.

Think the speculation was Evolve would become their true developmental brand while NXT stays what it is now with having indie stars and almost tv ready people as the main focus.

WWE quickly realized that NXT no longer was an actual developmental brand once they started touring and were getting rave reviews compared to the main shows. Ended up being an unintended side effect of Triple H/WWE being very hands off with the brand that it started to do a much better job than RAW/Smackdown was doing with creating great shows and storylines.

The WWE should probably have a few little learning leagues over the place. With the growth and specific vision that NXT has, it would make sense to have other places for guys to round themselves out some more. A place in Memphis run by Jerry Lawler could be cool. Tracy Smothers, Tom Prichard and Brian Kendrick could all be trainers there.

Yes, that's right, Dzhokar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev both TOTALLY destroyed the entire city of Boston, as opposed to just horrifically maiming and killing dozens or hundreds of people in the Boston Marathon bombing.

I've been a huge proponent of reviving the territories as a developmental system and such. The actual tours feature your top champ, tag champs, whoever they're feuding with, and a special attraction feud, but use the locals to fill the rest of Raw and Smackdown.

As for the territories themselves, I say 7 is a good number. Why? Each night on WWE Network, you have a show featuring each territory. They get their own titles and develop their own stars. Every so often, the local stars move, the feuds change, etc. Want to be on the tour? Step up your game.

Best of all, the Casuals won't get burned out from the 834th Orton vs Sheamus match of the year. Especially if Sheamus is the top dog of NXT NW and Orton rules NXT Midwest.

I had no idea who that guy was. I thought maybe he was an old baseball player or something, so I had to "Google him".

Turns out he's an actor from many shows, films and video games, all which I have never watched or played.

That explains why I didn't know who he was.
