Bethesda announced they are working on Elder Scrolls V and it will be a direct sequel to their ES IV: Oblivion game released 3-4 years ago. The game itself has been in semi-development for 2 years but hasn't gotten a full team working on it until after Fallout New Vegas was done.
Since its using the old Oblivion engine, its assumed there will be big worlds but also a lot of bugs since Bethesda hasn't fixed their engine after all these years. It is also assumed to be arriving on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 but only PC was specifically named. http://kotaku.com/5697047/report-eld...el-to-oblivion --------------------------------------- In other news, Nintendo returns to CES expo after 16-year absence and most likely will show off more of the 3DS and its games. 16 years ago, Nintendo and a few other game companies got upset CES would always "neglect" video game companies in their booth and press placement and decided to form their own expo called E3. |

After Fallout, I really don't care to go back to the oblivion setting unless they overhaul the engine. Mainly because Dragon Age just does the fantasy setting so much better.

I disagree. Dragon Age doesn't have the full feeling of a living breathing world like Oblivion does. I love both, but in totally different ways.

I'm probably goinna love GT5, but this last paragraph of the Joystiq review had me loling
Here's the deal: If you're one of those car nuts I mentioned earlier, here's your game. Have fun, we'll see you in a year when you finally leave the house. If you're not in that group -- you like, even love racing games, but care less about tuning and more about the thrill of the race -- GT5 is like walking in on a group of physicists discussing string theory and asking who wants to go toss around a ball for a bit. You're looking to have fun; they're only interested in studying the math behind how it bounces. |

Because my 360 is a launch day core model (still RROD free!), it doesn't have the AP25 protection. Word lyf.

Colonel Sanders is in the new Phantasy Star for PSP btw.
In other news. When I bought Pacman Championship Edition DX, I didn't get charged. So I got a pretty awesome game for free. Anyone interested in ilomilo, the XBLA game due out in a couple weeks, can get it now through this secret (and legit site) here. You type in the code and get an XBLA code to DL the demo. You can then buy it if you like it for 800 MSP. I enjoyed it and bought it with what should have been my Pacman MSPs. It's a cute puzzle game where you have to navigate these two thumb like characters around strange 360 degrees level to get them to meet up with each other. |

Sega set to reset or clear all Sonic 4 leaderboards due to massive cheating. No word if Sega will also ban the cheaters but the game's community has been requesting something be done for the last 3 weeks.
Xbox 360 leaderbaords have already been reset but no news on when the leaderboards for other systems will be done. Also not discussed was how Sega is going to deal with cheaters once Episode 2 arrives next year. http://kotaku.com/5700177/rampant-ch...oreboard-reset |

Looks like there won't be an NBA Jam sequel for a long while based on pre-Black Friday sales and potentially if Blitz fails to sell, forget the whole Midway arcade style games from EA.
NBA Jam sales so far are around 94,000 for the Wii with 10,000 for PS3 and 15,000 for Xbox 360. To put it in perspective, NBA 2k11 outsold Jam on the Wii with a later release date and outsold Jam on PS3 and Xbox 360 since Jam's release on the HD systems. |

A. Shouldn't have been a full-priced game.
B. NBA Jam isn't really something that needs yearly sequels. I'd be happy at once per generation. |

In a world where 15$ DLC can sell like hotcakes, I don't completely blame EA for at least taking a shot at ripping off Jam fans. Let this be a lesson to them, though.

Noh Red Dead Revolver was made by Rockstar. That doesn't even matter though, their games usually suck, at least that's my opinion man. Red Dead Revolver was so much fun from what I remember though. But I haven't played it since like 2004.

Red Dead Revolver was mainly made by capcom I thought, who then passed it on to Rockstar.
It was pretty much done by the time RS got it, to my understanding. |

I thought Rockstar had started from scratch or only built off a minimum amount of the engine.

Crytek, Crysis series developers, believe console game development is hurting and holding back PC game development but mainly in terms of graphics and performance.
Quote:
Its sort of similar to Epic Games where they love to make their engines but hate have to do a lot of work to customize or improve their engine for non-PC or Xbox 360 systems and games. http://kotaku.com/5701066/crysis-dev...-pc-games-back |
