Quantum of Solace: 7 out of 10. A little artsy, but I really liked it.

I agree. National Treasure 2 was better than sitting through Indianapolis 500.
(You did NOT mean Jones, even the new one). |

2/10 for me. I saw it in 3D and I felt like they didnt really make use of the 3D technology much until the end. It was pretty bad. I like slasher films, but I couldnt get into this one. The characters in these movies are usually pretty stupid...but this movie went beyond that. |

The Shawshank Redemption 10/10 — Great story, great film.
The Invasion 7/10 — In the mold of the body snatchers, but believable and entertaining enough as far as sci-fi flicks go. The Darjeeling Limited 7/10 — Not "lol" funny but humorous none the less. Great casting. |

Good, solid movie, probably about as good as the Hulk could ever been. Shit timing though coming out between Ironman and Dark Knight. |

Yes you did. Max Payne did have a nice ending narration though....
Gran Torino - 10/10. Clint Eastwood is badass. Seriously, this is the second movie I've seen him in, Million Dollar Baby is the first, and he played badass in both parts. Are all his movies like that? "You step on my lawn again, I'll blow your face in then go inside and sleep like a baby." Thats one of the best lines I've ever heard. Badass. One complaint I got is the ending. Spoilers = It pissed me off to the extreme that those gangsters didn't get their asses beat. It proves that if your in a gang your just a coward, your not really tough at all. And if I was Eastwood, I would NOT have gotten killed, I would have rose from the dead and kicked all their asses. Can't believe Clint Eastwood jobbed to those guys. Thats what he did. He laid down for them. But I am glad that he did kick that fat asians ass. |

My Bloody Valentine:3D
First Half -8/10 Second Half -2/10 The first half was awesome. There was the allure of the 3D, the crowd's reaction to ANYTHING popping out at them be regardless of the dimension was priceless, I had my popcorn, things were dying, everything was good. The second half sucked. The story got boring. The killing stopped. The crowd got bored, so I got bored. The glasses started to hurt. I ran out of popcorn. The ending was what I predicted it would be...I did NOT recycle the glasses. |

However, no excuse for the cinematography being so awful? I'm going to have to disagree on that. It was awful. No doubt. But it was shot for 3D. Cinematography was non existent. It was done in a way to place object in the forefront for 3D, and get things on the middle of the screen. Pretty awful by normal standards, but you have to cut it a break on that account considering what it is. It's a gag. They wouldn't be lighting things the way they did, or placing fences in the foreground and objects in front of the camera and what not if it weren't for 3D. Even the shots of the sets were done to add depth for 3D. I dunno, it was a shit movie but if you're going to a 3D slasher movie expecting anything resembling cinematography I think that's pretty unfair and pointless. It was bad cinematography by any sense of the word, but I think there was a clear excuse. p.s. I do know that it's possible for a 3D film to be passable with cinematography too. I'm sure we'll see more in the future but those are more interactive with the film. This is a classic throwback to the "poke you in the eye" 3D days. It's the gag, not an added bonus. So it's a different story than most things. Last edited by Jeritron; 01-24-2009 at 05:55 AM. |
