How many announcers do they need?

I imagine he's going to turn on Cody Rhodes after either being in his corner or being rejected for the position. He might wrestle earlier and a cut a promo.

Yeah Goldenboy was good. But yeah they may have "too many" announcers, maybe not. Might as well get Tenay in to call Luchasaurus matches too.

If you guys here look at post #75 in this thread, made back on Jan. 3 of this year, I floated Tony Schiavone's name in respect to the play-by-play commentary table, and it looks like I nailed it back then. Link below for refresher.

Tony calling the action with Jr chiming in sounds so good. I love Tony's naturalsense if urgency in big moments.

Honestly AEW is so up against the wall. You've essentially got Cody, Kenny, Jericho, Mox and The Bucks vs WWE.
I know the PPV hasn't happened yet but I am feeling worried about Hangman, he hasn't been built up as a serious contender for Jericho, I have no faith that he will be the first Champion, nor should he be. But they could've been building up that story, but they really have left it flat. I did like Kenny's recent promo on BTE. It's interesting though that he didn't play a traditional face or heel, right down the middle. I don't see Kenny as the main face of AEW right now. Maybe cause of his record so far IDK. I need to see that 6 star Kenny. Still looking forward to Wednesday Night Wrestling so bad. |

I've been thinking about AEW and the immediate future as far as main story booking goes. I think that AEW is in pretty good shape as far as main events go right now. If they keep a strong story for each of the main guys (Jericho, Cody, Mox, Omega & The Bucks) then I think they can go at a much slower pace than WWE does when it comes to plowing through programs/feuds.
AEW Championship I'm thinking Jericho has to win this. AEW hasn't done much to build Hangman Page to a point where he should win the Championship first. Plus it will fit right into Jericho's career motif of big time Championships. But where do we go from there? There is supposed to be a AEW Championship on an upcoming episode of AEW on TNT. I'm thinking a possible rematch, Jericho (c) vs Page. Perhaps Jericho cheats to win at ALL OUT and this rematch comes up that way. That seems pretty basic to me so I hope for something else. Jericho vs Spears might be better if Spears looks strong against Cody. However having a former WWE mid carder in the first big time main event on TNT may not be the best look. I'd go balls to the wall and promote MJF to challenge Jericho for that first AEW Championship defense. I can only imagine how fun that would be. Perhaps MJF saves Cody's ass against Spears and that ends up going towards this shot. Also hopefully a couple of big wins as well. MJF and Jericho on TV would probably be legendary. It's a bid odd that Omega is hung up with Pac and Mox, I think it will be some time before we see the rematch with Jericho. Whenever the last PPV of the year is I think we will see Jericho vs Omega with Omega taking the AEW Championship. I've felt that way since the spring, that Jericoh and Omega would rematch for the title and Omega would win. However you could sell me a Jericho year plus long title reign, set the tone for the biggest championship in AEW. |

I’d love Jericho to be the first champion. First of all, you’ll only ever have one first champion. It should be a name that will forever put a good look on your title. Secondly, putting the title on a guy and THEN trying to build him up is such a WWE thing to do and it’s the main reason their titles mean shit now. It would be much better to start off with a great heel champion once you start weekly TV and then use the show to build up stars before eventually letting one of them take the title off of him.
That being said, I’m afraid they’re going with Hangman because he seems to be the “chosen one” and the slow burn is a lost art. Really hope they have the ability to think long-term though. |

Jericho has to be the first champion. And I think he's going to be champion for awhile. But he's going to be an enhancement champion, if that makes sense. He's going to be booked strong while making other guys look good and AEW is going to use the chase to beat Jericho to build up multiple people to main event/star level in the company before pulling the trigger and having someone beat him. This way you have a bunch of viable contenders for the big title ready once it starts floating around instead of only a small number of guys over enough for the spot light. Makes for a better division in the long run.

Jericho needs to go over Page, Mox, and Cody at least. Probably MJF too. He can lose via shenanigans within the feuds, but in the end he needs to keep the title the whole time. Omega needs to be in the mix with these same people as well and be built up organically during the process. I'd probably throw PAC and a couple others in with some of these guys as well, boost them a bit too. Then eventually pull the trigger on Omega and have him go over Jericho clean af with Jericho trying every dirty trick he can think of in the process and it still not working.

Had AEW's weekly tv show started a lot sooner, they might have had enough time to build up Page into a credible top star and as a worthy choice for inaugural champion. Without that weekly television exposure, Page hasn't been able to build up his star power to the level of someone like Jericho or The Elite's big name stars. |

$60 for the PPV through the cable provider.
Same price as the last time, and still pretty steep. I'd figure they'd knock it down a bit. I'll buy this time around just so I'm "ready" for when launch comes in October. |

Watching it at a friend's house and we're splitting the cost. $60 is really steep, tho. If they're only found a handful of ppv shows a yr that's fine. But God helpthem if end up going monthly.

He is a drunk fat old dbag in real life, but he is still a great performer, and there is zero upside for the company to put the title on a guy who feels like the 5th or 6th best option on their current roster. |

Seems AEW might have hired Tommy Dreamer to a producer/agent position in the company since he was seen working backstage during last night's All Out show.
