LOL People are really going to town shitting all over the remasters. Even had them removed from certain online stores.
Yeah...I'm definitely glad I picked up the Tiny Tina standalone Dragon Keep game for $10 this week, and keeping my wallet closed to R*'s grubby greedy hands...FOR SHAME! |

LMFAO...I wish I could make up what I'm about to write, but evidently, data miners found every single missing soundtrack across all 3 games in the game files just sitting there disabled.
I mean, I kinda get it, licensing music for any game can be a bitch and a half, but I'm sure the vast majority would have preferred if they took care of it anyway since they've got all that sweet sweet GTAO money. And FFS, they could've even used the time to polish the remasters way more. Instead they've chosen to hoard as much Shark Card profits as possible and pump out GTAV and GTAO onto 9th generation consoles, the third generation in a row, so they can keep swindling suckers they know will keep paying for the Shark Cards. Might be for the best if something so horrible happened to R* as to put them out of business for good. At this point, how can anyone possibly think GTA VI will be any good? And especially at $70 current gen for the base game and whatever exorbitant prices they decide to charge for the inevitable BS "special" and "collector's" editions? |

i really wish these were on disc instead of 1 game + 2 downloads. i still think im going to get them but im considering not. in 20 years when the consoles battery fails I'll lose the games...so whats the point...

Just seems like they patched PS4 and PS5 more for PR reasons and to avoid potential future lawsuits, however frivolous or not they would have been. Not also fixing the PS3 does make me wonder if they actually do care at this point in time about preserving video game history. Sad to say, I still think the answer is no. |

well thats a boon for sure. ill moniter the patches and maybe i'll do the digital bundle. still dont see a reason to pay for 1 game and 2 download codes. even in the present state id buy them if they were all on disc just to own them

The only time I EVER buy a digital game is if that is the only way it's available and I reaaaallllyyyy gotta play it. Otherwise, I require my games to be on disc. I want physical possession of things I buy.

I was already on the fence about whether I was going to get them or not. Knowing that they are digital only for 2 of the games and there are mad issues apparently with the games anyways...I'm not so much on the fence anymore. More like I'm about 30 yards away from the fence wondering if there is anything worth looking at over there at all.
I imagine if I ever do decide to play them it will be via more nefarious means at this point. |

Other than wanting all my games to be physical, I also take issue with games that have a single player campaign and require you to be always online.
If I buy a single player game on a disc I want to be able to play it whenever I want, including when I'm not connected to the internet. |

I am 100% digital. Don't have to worry about disks getting damaged or the sensor in the hardware going bad. I don't keep my consoles forever so I don't have to worry about a battery going bad. I don't even have time to play half my backlog now, let alone revisit some game on another system from years ago. So I'm not terribly worried about the downsides of digital.

def on the other end of the spectrum from me. i go back and play decades old games all the time. the pre HD games are an issue since modern tvs make them look horrendous though. then there's the issue of digital is leasing and physical is owning.
to be topical the PC digital purchase of the GTA trilogy has been taken off the store and is unplayable currently and to top it off there's no option to refund. a game you purchased just a few days ago is not playable. im sure they fix the issue with the tracks being disable vs removed and get it back up in short order but this is what it is to make a digital "purchase." you dont own anything. |

I was kinda excited about this. For some reason, I was kinda jonesing to play III, take Guru to the hideout from the prison bus, then run over to the car lot to steal the Banshee and tool around town blasting GAME Radio... but the more and more news that keeps happening on this, I don't want to play it at all, and may just have to dust off the PS2, and hope it's one of the games I still have.
Although it is kinda hilarious that this release sucks as as bad as it does. I got the re-release of San Andreas on 360 (I think it was on the 360 - digitally), and remember being upset about some of the music being butchered (it was all there, but there were a couple of songs that skipped, the DDR-esque minigame section with Hollywood Swingin' was OFF BEAT, and whenever you failed a date, the "FUCK YOU, I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME!" was "edited". I wondered how that could be that bad years later. Didn't know it could and would get worse. My two concerns before all this was if all the music would be included (I figured music rights would be a concern; learned that lesson on the HD release of THPS) and if the flight mechanics in III and Vice City would at least be up to the standard of San Andreas. I mean, the Dodo in III was damn near impossible to fly, and VC didn't do much better... and also maybe if they retroactively gave Claude and Tommy the ability to swim (hey, remember the Driver dig at GTA:VC with "Timmy Vermencelli" wearing water floaties?) Now, I'd be more concerned about seeing through the rain effects, or janky nightmare fuel character models. This went from a day-one purchase to a no day anywhere soon purchase. |

flight in san andreas looks pretty rough. for whatever reason theyve removed the fog and the draw distance is total so you can see this naked map in full and its laughable

Sooooo...yeah...R* and Take-Two have been struggling to keep up with the massive flood of refund demands, and the games have been review bombed into oblivion on MetaCritic, with the lowest score being 0.5 and the highest at 0.7.

So for people who actually spent $ on the "definitive" edition and are keeping it, someone noticed a new, very detailed photo of what appears to be the house from The Golden Girls, which ran from 1985-1992. Easter egg, or perhaps a hint that GTA VI could be set between and covering some or all of those years, in VC?
I'll probably still never touch GTA VI if it ever comes to fruition, but it is rather interesting, I suppose. Maybe a game set there covers 1985, filling in some or all of the plot between VCS's 1984 and VC's 1986 settings. Obviously if it were to be set in VC, 1986 is almost certainly eliminated, so as not to overshadow Tommy Vercetti's story. Otherwise it could be cool to see it set in VC between and or covering some or all of the 1987-1991 (1992 is obviously the setting of SA, which while that's a different location, I doubt they'd want to mess with C.J.'s story) time frame. However, with the precedent set by GTA IV and followed in V, if they were to go back to VC, it would probably be set in the modern day. I know, for someone who couldn't care a bit about GTA VI, I sure launched into a bunch of different theories, but yeah...it just sort of piqued my interest a little and got my mind racing with ideas, but I'm still never supporting R* with another red cent of my $, you can rest assured of that. |

the live service model of 5 makes me think my time with gta has come to an end. its not what i want from games. i dont think its inherently bad but it doesnt fit my tastes...6...if the story is 40 hours I'll get it. any less I'll wait for a price the suits the value i designate.

I'm with Destor on GTA as a whole. If 6 doesn't have the usual substantial and high quality single player campaign and instead focuses on the live service aspect then I am out.

I think they really pissed off the community by basically promising an add-on to V's single-player story that never came to fruition, and instead put all their efforts into releasing add-ons free to GTAO and going for the bigger cash grab by offering Shark Cards.
R* have brought their reputation on themselves, and The "Definitive" edition of the trilogy just showed they no longer give a single fuvk about their fans. I once thought nobody could out-greedy EA (SW: BF II with their infamous mtx loot boxes), then Bethesda came along (FO76), and now with the new editions of III/VC/SA, we see that R* clearly didn't have to pay the former War Drum Games, renamed Grove Street Games after being acquired, to buy them and have them hurriedly crap out the "definitive" edition games. |

Well...they might have put out a half-assed apology, but at least for people who were duped into buying the definitive edition on PC, they're offering those people free copies of the versions that released on PS3/PS4 and 360/XB1 and the same version that released on PC in the 2010s, but only on PC...why not also to people who bought TDE on PS4/PS5 and XB1 and XBSS/XBSX?
Also, I hope these patches they are promising to address "a number of issues" in TDE aren't just minor things but also performance and other issues. At least they should try and make it seem like they didn't just outsource the lions share of the work to a random developer to touch up the lighting and a few other areas to slightly improve parts of the games while leaving the rest to rot from the ports of the mobile games. It reeks of laziness. Also, I get it, gAmErS ArE aNgRy, but that's no excuse to be sending hateful comments and death threats and all that bullshit at the developers or anybody. People who do that are the lowest if the low and we'd all prefer if they'd kindly give up gaming altogether because doing things like that every time one of these seemingly increasing instances of a game that looks promising turning out to be dog shit just be sure they can't control their rage lends credence to people's opinions who don't game that games tend to sometimes cause violence, which has never been proven. |

I can sit here and bitch about Rockstar and they do deserve criticism...but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't gonna jump on GTA 6 whenever it comes out.
Unless there was NO story and it was just a fully online game from the jump, I'd still get it. |
