What Shane said in his promo is kind of irritating. Like... he's not shooting, yet he's bring up how guys are getting "held down" and guys "without talent" are getting pushed. Fuck off. The babyface in a feud should not be mentioning this stuff. You're burying the product. Reeks of complete fucking desperation.
What if he wins? All of a sudden just because Shane won a storyline, the company is going to change their mantra? Give me a fucking break. lol even still, Shane vs Undertaker is probably going to be crazy. Other thoughts, I saw all over the internet people moaning about Shane's punches. Watched Ambrose vs Wyatt, and Ambrose's punches were just as bad if not worse. This was then later agreed with on the Whatculture podcast. What the fuck is going on these days? Who the hell throws a decent punch? Also, I've made this thread before years ago, but I'll just keep it in here because I don't think it's thread worthy anymore, but who has some of the best all time punches? Foley's punches to me always looked awesome. Bret's were tight as fuck too, as well as his lifters. Austin threw nasty punches as well as Terry Funk. Also liked Shawn and Razor's. Hate when guys "flurry" particularly Taker, looks so fucking fake. Good thing he is the man. just wish "it was still real to them, dammit". Seems like a lot of these new guys are too smart for their own good and spend too much time caring about internet smarks. Daniel Bryan didn't care about internet smarks, he just cared about being a motherfucker. Same with guys like Cesaro. Really just wish guys could work each other and not worry so much about the "interactive" crowd. |

I agree with you, Dale. I've been really into the concepts behind what really makes wrestling work these days. It takes you down a really cool rabbit hole when you consider the stuff Kevin Sullivan managed in WCW when it was beating WWE. So much of the WWE product is subconsciously "Look at how shit this is." Whether it to be the realism of the work, the idea of guys being caught with their pants down backstage for random talky segments, or the active disconnect with promos and reality.
I know it was a special situation, but when Daniel Bryan retired, did they really need to basically retcon the whole Authority angle and basically erase the most prominent years of the man's career? "You're being such a smark!" No, actually -- I'm thinking like a mark. Who would actually invest in the main stories of WWE with the company constantly winking at you? |

The Taker vs. Shane story is something that I'm not sure they are sure how to get out of. Lol.

My worst fear is that it's basically just going to be used to have Shane lose and make the odds seem worse for Roman going against The Authority.

Yeah Lawler too. Lawler is one of those old school guys who gets max results out of minimal effort. When he had that program with the Miz and Cole, and all he would do was punch and fist drop and yet his matches were better than EVERYONE else on the roster.

They need to get Bret as a trainer and start teaching people how to throw a punch.

What the fuck. Ambrose is the shits. His punches suck, he never sells, his promo are WAY too over the top. This is why nobody watches anymore. No emotional investment at all. You can blame the writers, but the writers aren't no selling in the ring, or just doing moves to get their shit in. You can say I'm behind the times with that statement, but I've seen opening matches in 1985 with more crowd reactions than the main events of 90% of Raw. |

I can't remember which interview he did it with, but Foley asked HHH about working with Austin and Rock and the difference before Foley's programs. HHH said, "Rock's punches don't hurt at all, Austin's hurt like hell."

I think there's a difference between a stiff punch and a reckless punch.
Also Gerty, you're too black and white. Ambrose is not "the shits" he is just not a complete product yet. 3/10 post. |

Which one of my criticisms of Ambrose is wrong? He's an 11 year pro. It's not like he's fresh out of OCW.

I think if you saw Ambrose go out there with no script you'd like his promos more.
He USUALLY sells very well. The crowd is USUALLY into him. however at this point I just think he's lost too much and is booked like a retard. I don't disagree with your criticisms, but to call the guy "the shits" is inaccurate. To say he's over rated, well I could see where you're coming from there. But he's done some great stuff whether you want to admit it or not. Unfortunately, in your case, you're a body guy, and he doesn't have the body, so you're gonna be WAY harder on him. Just like you were with Bryan Danielson. |

Ambrose is 6"4 225. Size isn't the issue for Ambrose.

Ambrose has good height to him, he's just physically very lanky. I don't think it's the be-all, end-all of course but I can't ever really see a scenario where he goes back to wearing no shirt and regular trunks like he did in the indies/FCW.

Ambrose has the build of a swimmer or something. He looks good in the way that a guy in a band looks good. He needs to start looking like a rassler. Bring back the steroids with regulated use or have him get into trunks and look like an insane rassler that actually belongs in a rassling ring. The worst is when he gets his shirt torn off during matches and the jeans make him look lanky and like he's posing for Tiger Beat.
Aesthetic is a big thing and a lot of the entrances and ring attire of guys suck. |

Ambrose gets presence down. He doesn't look out of place with Triple H or Brock Lesnar, but he doesn't have the aesthetic of a World Champion. It'd be like putting the belt on Mick Foley. Which is fine at a certain time or in a certain place, but not at RassleMania.
He should come out in trunks at Roadblock. He'll either look ridiculous, which can play up the "delusional" thing or he'll look better than what people think and he'll have a credible look. Then it's MMA shorts against Brock. |

Ambrose is fine in the ring with me. Yeah, his punches are considered shitty, but he sells things like he's a mad man so people believe it. A big problem is that he gets his ass kicked and asks for more the next while Roman Reigns -- your alleged superhero -- takes two weeks off.
They're either doing the 4-Way or putting the belt on Ambrose. I guess the obvious and "certain" outcome of Triple H keeping the belt needs to be entertained, but it makes me question the whole purpose of this show or the build for Ambrose. But if that happens look for an evil beat-down from Brock to be the reason Ambrose isn't champion. |

Ryback has been a pro for 12 years and sucks worse dick than Ambrose. Ryback wrestles like someone who wants to be loved like a big teddy bear. Does lots of video game moves with no story behind them, loses his place and then hits his weakest looking move of all to win the match as he tries to use the shit that is over by repetition to WAKE UP the crowd.

If this were the Attitude era, Dean Ambrose & Ryback would be a New Age Outlaws style team. They'd actually be pretty over.

They are using images of former WWE Tag Team Champions for the retired World Tag Team titles and images of former World Tag Team Champions for the active WWE Tag Team titles
They recently rectified the issue with the retired World Heavyweight Championship. |
