L.A. Confidential 9/10
Awesome movie. Finally got to see it, I dont know why it took so long because my roommate in college was obsessed with it and watched it all the time. Top notch cast and acting with an awesome story.. Bonus points for the Blu Ray which has the 2000 LA Confidential TV pilot with Kiefer Sutherland playing Jack Vincennes which is just the craziest thing since its almost Jack Bauer in the 1950's. |

The Code/Thick as Thieves 3/10
Whoever thought of putting Antonio Banderas and Morgan Freeman together in a heist movie should be forced to sit through this movie for a week straight with their eyes wired open. I might have been able to be more generous with the rating if they had chosen ANYONE besides Banderas for his role because he turns in one of the worst performances Ive seen in a long time (and he gets to romp around with Radha Mitchell to make me even angrier.) Freeman was ok, though you could tell he wasn't investing too much of himself in this one either, but at least it wasn't on the level of dear Antonio. The movie was extremely predictable with only one oddball swerve that I didnt see coming but it wasn't even worth worrying about, and a story thats pretty much like every other heist movie you've seen before minus any real action or even tension. I just saw this new movie with Clive Owen and Julia Roberts. I can't even remember the name of it. I shut it off like 20 minutes in due to it sucking

District 9 - 4/5
I caught myself wishing that the movie was less preachy and more sci-fi action when the dude and Johnson were storming the MNU building and they had that one line of 'buddy action comedy' dialogue ("Fuck!"). But I otherwise enjoyed it very much. The director has my favor, and now I feel bad he didn't get to do Halo. |

Fragments: 5/10
This was a direct to DVD movie starring Dakota Fanning, Forest Whitaker and Kate Bekensale. It reminded me a lot like that movie Crash, but not as good. basically, some dude comes into a diner on an ordinary day with all these people inside and starts shooting. Then the movie focuses on the lives of the people who lived trhough the ordeal and how these people changed after that. Plus Kate Beckensale gets nailed from behind in this movie |

Halloween II (2009) - 5/10
There was some good but more not good. The Michael Myers scenes were good. The psychological scenes were not good. I didn't really feel any strong connection to the lead character. Usually you want to see her escape and/or kill the bad guy, but I didn't in this case. I think it was partly because she was annoying and partly because she found out she was Michael Myers' sister she decided to go get drunk at a huge house party on Halloween instead of having a mental collapse since that seemed to be the direction she was heading (but that wouldn't have been as exciting I guess). |
