I'm sure as soon as he got through the Pearly Gates he got directions to the movie theatre so he could see Captain America, Green Lantern and Thor before the rest of us.

Why the fuck does it take so long for every new issue of Avengers: Children's Crusade to come out. Fuck.

Not like massive delays are anything new with Young Avengers.

Oh and by the way, the new fantastic four book, aka Future Foundation is awesome, and my new favorite book.
Pick it up, unless you are a giant pussy who fears change and new ideas. |

I'll admit that I was skeptical about FF because having Spidey on the team was an obvious marketing ploy to get people to read it (although it does make sense in-character, what with him and Torch being best friends), but damn if I'm not hooked on it. Crazy super-science plots, hilarious dialogue, and I have to admit, my new favorite team costumes ever.

Everything about it is fantastic. I've never really even liked FF that much, but this is great.
And honestly, ever since spider-man joined the new avengers, I've aactually preferred him as a team player, rather than as a solo act. With every team he joins, he just has brilliant chemistry with the other characters. He's good in his own book, but he is so much more entertaining when he has other people to play off of. Can't tell you how many times I've laughed out loud at some of his moments in all these books. And yeah, the new uniforms are badass. I thought they were cool even when they were revealed and everyone was "BAAAAAAAWWWW"ing about it. Personally, I'm a fan of new ideas, and making bold moves. That is probably why I like Grant Morrison. Can't stand these people who say crap like, "Well if he was a good writer he wouldn't need to change things. He could just write good stories with what he's got." That's bullshit. I don't care how good a writer is, these properties have been around since the 60's and there is only so much you can do, before you need to make some bold changes to allow fresh, new stories to be told. I like things like New X-men, and One More Day(The idea of it anyways, not the execution.) |

Yeah, and I honestly don't care if spidey joining was a marketing decision, because he's always been really tight with the FF, not just Johnny. And he's something of a scientist himself, so it works on that level as well.

One thing I like about Spidey lately is writers have been tapping into the scientist things. It's actually being used, not just a footnote in his bio.

Did I mention that Jaimie Alexander (Sif, Thor) expressed desire to portray X23? I prefer Vanessa Hudgens, but a proven fresh face (without tabloid baggage) may entice Fox to the character. I decree: Allow this.

Feel like it would be really really hard to make x-23 work on film.

On the contrary, I find her to be one of the most movie-friendly characters in Marvel's library.
Go with my Hudgens casting and you expand the age demo to net tweeners, tapping Twilight's target audience. Girls will be lured in, guys think she's hot. She'd fit with the possibility of X4 being youth oriented. Can give Hugh Jackman a new angle to work with (Logan as father figure). Go with Alexander and you increase the 'sexiness', and present women with their own 'Wolverine'. She'd bring in those who enjoyed her in Thor, and she can promote the movie in hound-dog circles (Maxim, etc). Could interact with Jackman on a closer level (sibling, cousin), or outright be the 'feral character' if Wolverine doesn't make the movie. Then there's the X-movies lacking a marketable action girl in general. It won't be Rogue. |

Not really talking about marketability.
Took a lot of writing and complex stories took make x-23 a respectable character and not a shameless wolverine clone. Just don't think you can fit that into a movie. Seems like she would inevitably seen as a cheap cash in by critics. |

Would be a legit complaint. I'm sure the action scenes would be fun, but I just can't see how they could avoid her being a shallow character given the time constraints of a movie.
As a fan of the character, I wouldn't like it. Would probably end up being like deadpool in origins, albeit to a lesser extent. |

Rogue in X1 was essentially a prototype of the character without them knowing it. Even as far as her relationship with Logan goes.
Do that again, add more depth and stakes, and killer fight scenes, and I'm happy. |

I think you probably meant to put that in the DC thread, but... I kind of liked Brightest Day. I wouldn't call it great, but it was decent.
I liked Justice League: Generation Lost better though. |

So... First Class kind of blew my mind. Was fully expecting to hate it, but it was way better than it had any right to be. Fassbender was incredible and - God help me - I was actually interested in Havok for the first time in my life.
Plus, SPOILER: show |
