it's quite easy to use critical thinking skills to tell which promos are scripted. There have also been script leaks showing promos scripted word for word. Wrestlers who work for the company also talk about how promos are now scripted word for word vs how they used to be just bullet points and improvisation.

Austin 3:16 would have never been a thing if the promo was scripted.

If you give a good actor a terrible script and tell them to follow it to the letter, nobody is going to believe they are a good actor.

Can't see how that argument (that guys who need help get help) is even valid for a guy like Barrett, he was one of the best talkers in the company.

He reminds me a lot of Cesaro. You can see pieces of a star, but can't put everything together to really stand out. |

Well, Cesaro is better in the ring but yeah, Nexus and Bad News Barrett were top tier characters.

What killed Barrett's potential stardom was him getting injury prone and not him missing the things needed to be a big star.
Ceasaro had the better in-ring skills but Barrett was better with gimmicks and promos which is what the WWE cares more about. The King gimmick was a bust but that was because the WWE didn't care enough for it to work and the whole tournament being just a big afterthought. Ceasro could easily have been a big star by now if the WWE were actually serious with Heyman as his manager and/or not doing their best to fight the crowds who wanted him to be a big star. |

Extemporaneous speaking
Some folks are really good at doing memorized promos. The problem is, it's really hard to say someone else's words and make them sound natural. Pro Wrestling isn't Hamlet. It isn't Friends, regardless of what Kevin Dunn wants to think. It would actually help the writing staff more if they just went with Bullet Points and an amount of time for a promo. Then the boys figure out how they want to get through the Bullet Points in their own words, how they feel like they themselves would say it. Alas, some guys aren't good at talking at all. What do you do with folks like that? Limit their talking and let someone do the talking for them (managers). Honestly, if Managers were still a thing, Enzo wouldn't ever be anywhere near the inside of the ring. |

The other thing is you're not going to know if a guy is a good promo if he's given a script. We've seen several wwe.com exclusives where whoever is talking, whether it be Ryback, Ziggler etc, come off as miles better and more natural than what we see on actual television.
Not to mention, other than Cena, who was given freedom and even now is likely given freedom to do his thing, who's been a breakout star in the scripted promo era? |

He's also a liar and a piece of shit. James E. laid it on the line on the Expierence. Santino said James E called him and said he was glad he got his neck broken and he was glad he was out of the business. Corny said he never spoke to him since the Boogeyman Incident.

You guys... If you ignore CyNick it will go away. Why do y'all keep feeding that thing? Pretty soon it's gonna get cozy here and make a nest so it can start spawning. Do you want that?

Also, Merry Christmas to anyone who gives a crap. I likely won't be on any closer to the actual day than now, so I thought I'd spread out some tactical well wishes in a pre-emptive strike than a belated clusterbomb.

Masato Tanaka is essentially the terminator. How the fuck can he still go after the damage he has done to himself?

With the WWE creating a UK Championship, I hope they have a plan for it. I'd like the tournament winner to eventually drop it to a heel that jumps over from the WWE as a bit of a refresher for them -- whether that is a Jack Swagger or a Dolph Ziggler isn't too important. It'd be a nice feather in the cap for whomever they insert into that position. I'd like to see that heel unseated by Adrian Neville who then drops it to the next local guy they are trying to make. Wade Barrett then comes in, wins the belt from them and drops it back to that local guy after the local guy fights his way back into contention. The whole arc could play out over months and months.

I'm a big fan of kayfabe, but I suppose it is good for Bray that he gets to be a human being now. Teaming with Randy Orton can bring some fresh darkness to Randy's persona, but also humanize Bray a bit. He feels more "material" than he has in other incarnations of himself. |
