Young Justice was amazing again. There seems to be a lot of themes coming to an end. MM and NW seemed to come to terms with their fuck ups, Arsenal got a little bit of what's coming to him. The Team is safe, Mongul is back to fucking shit up and, finally, G Gordon Godfrey is grilling the Reach ambassador!!! HOLY SHIT this episode moves quite nicely into the season(and sadly Series) climax.

It is an absolute goddamn travesty that YJ is ending. You can tell there was a whole lot they wanted to explore but never got to, and a lot of characters that never got used to their full potential. I would've loved to have seen more of Tim/Robin, especially after they referenced Jason Todd in the memorial room (imagine how Nightwing and Robin would react if they ever got to do another appearance with the Joker), or given a little more character-development time to Beast Boy or Wonder Girl so they're not just glorified background characters. And there's the fact that there have been a bunch of Apokoliptian weapons and gadgets, and that G. Gordon Godfrey is a well-known alias of one of Darkseid's most loyal lackeys, which could have led to some huge incredible reveal in later seasons.
Ah, what could have been.... Oh, and in regards to the new Batman/Superman comic-- wasn't it already pretty much established that Superman and Batman first met in Justice League #1? The way that Bats was talking to GL about Superman made it sound pretty clear that he'd only ever kept tabs on him, that he hadn't actually met the guy yet. Sigh, grumblegrumbleNew52grumblegrumble...... Last edited by Nowhere Man; 02-25-2013 at 03:40 AM. |

After Trinity War (whenever that happens) I can see DC is building towards another event w/ Darkseid after JLA#1 and Vibe#1.

Considering that WB will likely never get a Wonder Woman movie out of development hell and that the upcoming "WW in high school" TV series sounds really stupid, this fan-film is probably the closest we'll ever get to a decent WW movie:

I haven't gotten around to seeing Year One, but I loved Under the Red Hood. And S/B Apocalypse, while not as good, has some of the best super-fights out there.
Though if you want a good action-heavy Superman animated flick, I'd also highly recommend Superman vs. The Elite. |

It's neat how each kid's gift is a thoughtful precursor to what their alter egos do in real life. Bruce is a rich boy, Barry a scientist, Hal is a pilot and Clark is a writer. Just so thoughtful

These are rumors, but it comes from a source that can't be fucked with - so brace yourselves.
- Christian Bale is definitely in talks to return as Batman. - For the Justice League movie. - The Dark Knight and Man of Steel universes will be reconciled and merged to form the bases for a DC Cinematic Universe. You still with me? - Christopher Nolan will assume a godfather chair like Joss at Marvel and Miller at Fox, overseeing DC movies from here on out. This is something WB/DC was gunning for a long time if past rumors are taken into account. - Zack Snyder may produce Justice League, and possibly direct it - given the positive buzz from early Man of Steel screenings. |

If they can lock this shit down in two years; we could have a summer of Justice League and Avengers 2 in 2015 - then I have Bane's permission to die.

Avengers 2 should be great, but I'm far more excited for Man of Steel and JL than I was for any of the Marvel movies. Especially if Bale, Cavill, and hopefully Stephen Amell, will be doing it.

I would for Stephen to portray a big screen version of Ollie, even if it's detached from the CW show. Then again, the tone of the show (already credited to Nolan's bat-movies) would make for an easy reconciliation imo. Not to mention it would save time casting Oliver if he were to make the roster.
On that, give Adrianne Palicki another go as Diana, since she fits the bill and the abysmal WW pilot was not her fault in any way. |

Those guys accurately called the makings of superhero media pretty much since it got big years ago. I posted stuff from them since the inception of the DC and Marvel threads. Incredibly legit source.
If you wanna break it down to who their sources are; well then I can't help you there. But I trust them if that means anything for you. And I don't post every piece of rumor I come across unless I certain the sites or personalities have a good track record. That goes for movies and games. |

Honestly one or maybe two of them (Aquaman or Manhunter) could be introduced in the movie itself without bogging it down but 5 may be a bit much, but I do have faith in Nolan getting it right no matter which way he goes. I really do love Arrow though. So much better than I thought it would be. |

Keep in mind Nolan may not have writing or directorial duties here, he may be something of a quality insurance. WB's bigger problem is finding the hook to these characters. They try to find some 'tone' and build all their movies like that, whereas Marvel Studios build their movies on genre templates; the WW2 movie, the medieval movie, the werewolf movie, etc.
WB doesn't know how to find the hook to make each hero work, so they say 'make it like (most successful work here)'. Then again, having a general tone may make things easier for them - but I think it kills the potential of each character's own movie imo. My armchair producer approach: Batman: Gritty, moody. Nolan had this right. Superman: Wonder, sci-fi. Something Speilbergian, though no offense to what Snyder is doing. Wonder Woman: Xena with a bigger budget essentially, at least the first half. Then merge that with the 'Man's World' second half. Green Arrow: Social, streetwise. Similar to the show, but add more of Oliver's class warfare undertones (which the show does allude to). Green Lantern: Essentially Star Wars. The cartoon knows this, the movie had no clue. |

Really don't want to see Bale don the suit again. TDKR ended so perfectly, imo, that bringing Bale back would just ruin it. Even if he's playing a "different" Bruce Wayne, it still cheapens the end of the last one. Give the role to some unknown 20 something whoo csn make it his own and create a new Batman for this new universe. No retreads.

@Rey
It's still a DC comic universe, and Bruce Wayne can never not be Batman. The city needed him before and he did right by them, but perhaps the world needs him now. He'd suit up for that. |

Seems like everyone online is flipping out over rumours. Latino Review is legit, but talks don't mean anything until deals are done. I can buy Nolan overseeing the movie DCU. Bale coming back is a bit harder to swallow.
I dunno. My gut says Batman should be completely rebooted. Leave the Dark Knight trilogy as it's own thing. |
