Land of the Lost: 7/10
It was a lot better then I thought it was going to be. It had some ROFL moments like when they are all high. I dunno, the "being high" spots in movies never get old with me. I didn't expect much from this movie, so I was happy at the end. Night at the Museum 2: 5/10 It had its moments and was pretty much what I expected. The Superbad kid was pretty funny in it. I wish he had more scenes. A Perfect Getaway: 9/10 Loved the writing and direction of this film. I didn't think it would turn out as good as it did. I know some of you will be like 'I knew the "twist" in the first 30 minutes. Well if you pay attention to certain things, it's easy to see what's coming. It's almost like the writer's wanted to give it away. Everything is cleverly written to set the reveal up. Steve Zahn is the man. |

Hot Shots! - 2/10. Yeah, seriously. It was funny for about 20 minutes, then it just got old.
Meet The Parents - 10/10. Death Proof - Hmmm.....10/10 I guess. Tarintino and his slow buildups to big action scenes, then another slow pause in between the action scenes.....I guess I like it. This movie really could have only been about 45 minutes long though.... |

Seven Pounds - 7/10
Kinda put it all together well before the end, which took away from the pay-off at the end. Burn After Reading - 7/10 Reminded me of Guy Ritchie's stuff (Snatch/Lock, Stock...). Sherlock Holmes - 8/10 More "Sherlock, stock and Two Smoking Barrels" than I expected but really enjoyable. |

The Day The Earth Stood Still - 5/10 - nothing special, got bored at various points.
Where The Wild Things Are - 7/10 - good, I read the books and saw the cartoon adaptation as a kid, loved the story, but I felt the film focused on more negative aspects of childhood wonder coming to an end, rather than the good points. Sorority Row - 4/10 - Dunno why I watched it, let alone downloaded it. Crazy sexy ass girls in it, but nothing at all original or appealing. |

St Trinians 2 1/10 I didn't like it at all but one short scene towards the end that didn't involve "The girls" was almost close to bareable.
Avatar (in 3D) 10/10 I really enjoyed the film. I know everyone seems to say that but they are right this time. I wouldn't mind seeing it again. |

Moon - Loved it, thought it was going to be kinda more philosophical/non-linear, but it surprisingly had a very concise and clear story. As the story progressed I thought it might run off the rails, but it remained original and intelligent. I guess it borrowed a couple things from 2001/Solaris but it also had kind of a Twilight Zone feel to it. 8/10

The Book of Eli - 7.5 out of 10. It was a really well shot, neo-western. I'm a sucker for that kind of thing. Denzel Washington continues to be a stoic bad ass.
The Lovely Bones - 4 out of 10. There were some moments of goodness, but for the most part this was awful. It feels like Peter Jackson just adapted what he could and forgot to say anything about the material. He would kill his momentum mid sequence by cutting away to something ridiculous. It made everything drag on forever. |

Backtracking a little:
Avatar - 9.5/10. I don't need to explain why. Law Abiding Citizen - 7.5/10. Good, not great. Some crazy bits, some pointless/over the top bits. Taken - 9/10. Only just got round to watching it, Neeson is fucking quality. Really good film. Also, not a movie but I've been watching David Attenbrough's Trials of Life series from 1990 and it is fantastic. Love Attenbrough's voice too. |

Hard Candy - 6/10
Good acting & very gripping. It lost points for plausibility. Not going to spoil the film but for those who have seen it some of the parts are not feasible for a girl her size to accomplish which took me out of it from time to time. |

Minus the overly dramatic dialog and the twinkling vamps I totally dug Twilight.

Zombieland 9/10 - Really surprised at how good this was.
Star Trek 8/10 - Overall very good, especially the sets/special effects/cinematography. I have seen only a few episodes and a couple of the original movies. They did a good job of making this feel like a movie that anybody could walk in and see not really knowing anything about the Star Trek universe. I will say this: I was extremely bothered by the use of Sabotage when young Kirk is driving around on Earth. As you are aware, the Beastie Boys have a line in Intergalactic that makes reference to the Vulcun nerve grip (a pinch in the neck from Mr. Spock). How would the Beastie Boys know about Spock before the Vulcans made contact? In a Zombie movie you wonder why the main character doesn't know he needs to shoot the zombie in the head. Didn't he see Dawn of the Dead? No. The Romero films don't exist in that character's universe. But in this Trek universe the Beastie Boys clearly do, and there is no reason to suppose they have released their entire catalog except Intergalactic or altered that line in any way. An embarrassing oversight, to be sure. |

Terminator Salvation 7/10 - Not as bad as a lot of peeps made it out to be it was better than Rise of The Machines and had a lot to live up since I previously saw the following.
Avatar 9.5/10 - I absolutely adored this film but I just can't give it a 10 since the story itself is all too familiar but with that said I look forward with high anticipation for the sequel. |

Terminator 4 - 8/10 it was much better than I thought it would be.
GI Joe - 2/10 and this was much much worse than I thought it would be. Even the CGI was awful. How the crap is that possible these days with big budgets and all? |
