I agree with xrod that bigcrippyz is very reactionary, and defensive. But I'd wager even he could be civil with you if you presented your dislikes of AEW in a way that wasn't dripping with sarcasm on a ridiculous level.
Smeat is accurate in that respect goes two ways. You're not going to get said respect by mocking people just for liking something you don't. Whether that was your intention or not, it's how you come off. And if you want to act obnoxious to the people who deny Aew's flaws and see it as the golden goose of wrestling then fine. But don't play the victim as if the whole forum is against you, because I can count on one hand the amount of people here that fit that description. Even among the people who really like AEW. |

As a lifelong Congressional member of the Wrestling Forum I want to put my two cents in on this controversial topic. Many AEW fans in general are very sensitive and protective over their baby. It's an unconditional mother's love that comes from years of abuse by WWE and Vince McMahon. We are all entitled to an opinion, and those opinions or criticisms are absolutely valid if said critic actually watches the product they are speaking on.
For years, many of us have obliterated TNA and WWE for their products. It objectively wasn't for us. Obviously this will be the case for AEW as well. It won't be for everyone. And Xrod is likely lashing out loudly because of the years of abuse from being a WWE fan, the new big million dollar promotion opens with cable tv and ppv and big stars, and it still doesn't appease him. I think it's as simple as that. At least he is in the threads most weeks watching the shows with us, and when it's something he likes he calls it. Basically at least he isn't Noid. |

Easy for me, I like the new product over the old product better. Will tune into old product if there is some kind of buzz but otherwise I'll just read about them online and watch the new.

Except that everyone has valid criticisms, they just don't shit on one another for it. In addition, I keep reading about overly-sensitive, staunch defending, AEW apologists, but find none on these boards. In the weekly threads, and the one megathread, the same posters who praise also shame. When asked in the past to show these posts, it is always met with "No, you!". |

I don't even care if they don't like AEW. What I don't have any time or patience for, are folks like Noid and xrod, who are so arrogantly stupid as to tell myself (when I quite regularly put together TV deals and see both sides of the data and financial info) and others, patently false information or anecdotes about U.S. TV ratings and ad rates, as if their false statements are proof or justification that AEW is shitty and/or going to fail, and people who watch or enjoy it are stupid.

Yeah, I totally get your reaction to xrod. I just think it's further fueling his behavior.

In xrod’s defense I have had civil discourses with him and it offend ends with him humbly admitting how very, very wrong he is.
I’ve also given up and just called him a big dumb fuckstick. Also fun. I see the positives in both strategies. |

I post the same sarcastic way about WWE, but oddly enough I cannot recall one time being told I am a Tony Khan Cocksucker. That is the point, that biased overly sensitive posters are incapable of having civil discussions regarding AEW. |

Do you think they’re just lying? If not then it stands to reason that maybe it’s the way you carry yourself that causes that kind of response. |

If it was just me, I'd get the "Tony Khan Cocksucker" when I post negative about WWE. Since I dont, I can only surmise that AEW is a much more sensitive subject. |

I feel like next week will be down because there aren't any draw matches scheduled yet. They need to have at least one must see match per week IMO.

It will probably be down because of no Tyson or "top guy" matches, but still sounds like a good card, two title matches, and there will prob be talking segments with Jericho/Omega/Bucks/MJF, etc.
Darby Allin vs. Jungle Boy will be cool... – TNT Championship: Darby Allin (c) vs. Jungle Boy – AEW Women’s World Championship: Hikaru Shida (c) vs. Tay Conti – Christian Cage vs. Powerhouse Hobbs – Hangman Page vs. Ricky Starks – Trent vs. Penta El Zero Miedo |

Yeah that isn't a great card to capitalize on a huge 1.2 million rating. I really hope they reshuffle or add something big. Pretty much it has to be Jericho in something big every week IMO. I wouldn't really consider some non title Omega match suitable. Darby vs Jungle Boy is pretty good for a main event though. I'm really waiting for something interesting to pop up with Paul Wight to bring him around weekly. Also for the love of god why isn't Brian Cage getting matches on Dynamite?

I like the card. Showcasing some upcoming talent. Rome wasn’t built in a day boys. AEW just started. Even if they do drop, they have been doing awesome. The ratings have been outstanding for today’s standards.

I like that card because they are all one on one matches, which I'll take over multiple 6, 8, and 10 man tag matches. Still feels like the matches are just thrown together randomly though.
Penta vs Trent why? Page vs Starks why? Christian vs Hobbs why? No story, no heat, might as well pick names at random from a tumbler. |

Well Hobbs and Christian makes sense. He’s been feuding with Team Taz. As for the other two.. may be the beginning of something. I like both the matches.

You have a point, that filler matches with no context can seem a bit dry, outside of the match itself. But the alternative is what you see in WWE, where we have the same match for weeks. Sometimes for months.
I'd rather have a couple filler matches sprinkled in between the feud matches, rather than see the same bouts ad nauseum. |

Very true. The thing about "filler" matches is that they can and should eventually lead to something more. WWE has essentially no filler matches and AEW has too many filler matches that go nowhere or take sometime take a little too long to lead to something. Both could do better.
