I found my old Command and Conquer CDs for The First Decade and Generals/Zero Hour. Couldn't get them to work so downloaded Generals/Zero Hour from Origin. I sunk so many hours into those games. Trying to play multiplayer Generals vs my mates on a dial-up modem on minimum detail and low res graphics so my PC wouldn't explode. What a world we live in now where I can fire up a game over broadband and play on max graphics. Still a great game.

Gonna start up my Dishonored 2 runs.
I had hoped I can go back and replay missions when that update kicked in. But, it won't allow me. So I gotta start from scratch. A second run as Corvo running around as a mad man. And a third as Emily with no powers. |

Played a lot of call of duty the past few nights. Still trying to take my time with Horizon Zero Dawn, but I know the minute I become engrossed with it, I'll play it like The Last of Us which I played non stop for like 2 weeks till I beat it.
Also throwing in some NHL 16 every once in awhile |

Just beat the Witcher 2 but PC check says comp might not handle 3. So, no purchase yet.

I like completing things 100%. It doesn't take as long as it seems as I can skip earlier missions I have already completed 100% and start later into the story, and then quickly go through easier missions, not wasting time exploring stuff. Plus just knowing the basic story helps in knowing what I need to do and what is optional....

Finally managed to jump back on Nier Automata, started NG+ and this is all very Resident Evil 2. This game just gets weirder and weirder. I'm into it.

Spider-Man on PS4.
Takes a little while to get going. Doing more disturbances and collections than advancing the story so far. |

Final act of Nier Automata is so fucking depressing. I heard the first Nier was bleak, and i'm reading that this one is pretty much sunshine in comparison, but wow. Heard the ending gets crazy, I will endure.

I put nier back into the backlog on your recommendation. Hated the combat when i first tried it. Going to give it another shot at some point.

Yeah you have to set your chips to accommodate your playstyle or you have a pretty rough time. All the weapon types are viable though and have different move sets so it's all about finding your own preferred style.
Though once you reach a certain point you will be OP as fuck and be able to take down bosses in three hits so it doesn't matter anymore haha. I think there are superbosses out there somewhere but I haven't gained access to them yet, probably have to beat the final boss before you can get to them. |

Beat the superboss and then the true ending of Nier Automata.

Been listening to the Persona 4 soundtrack to try and wash away the nihilism. I'm okay.

If you can get over the combat the story and characters will make a big impression. Side quests are all pieces of the bigger picture too, almost everything ties in. It's great / super depressing. I wasn't huge on the combat either tbh, but my chip set up in my first run sucked and then by the time I realised I need to fix it I was OP. Doesn't come close to dethroning Persona 5 but i'd comfortably put it as my #2 of 2017 (haven't played the Nintendo big boys yet but this is probably more my kind of game anyway).
The soundtrack is so good though, I can see why it got the nod over P5 in that department even though I prefer P5s music. Everything is so weird and alien, the overworld map theme evolves as you progress through the story to reflect the feeling of what's happening. It's really well put together. Also fucking weird. |

Feel like I'm gonna play every persona game over the next year... I played one of the Shin Megami Tensei games a few years ago and tbh it was cool but kinda drove me away. Love Persona though...

4 and 5 are very good. The psp version of 3 js probably playable but the OG version of 3 is butts. Not being able tp control your party is a deal breaker for me

1 and 2 are also not like the others, there is no social sim side of the game and they are more in line with the rest of SMT. Heard 2 has a great story and theres a PSP version which might not be as horribly dated, don't know for sure though.
Any version of 4 is fantastic, if you have access to a Vita / PS TV I'd highly recommend Golden for the additional QoL features, but vanilla is fine as is. 3 you have a choice of P3P on PSP or P3 FES on PS2 or PS3 digital store. I've played through FES and the dungeon crawling with AI party members is quite jarring, which is rectified in P3P, however you lose a lot of the daily routine side of things, instead of walking around town you just click through options. Dungeons aside, 3 is very good and I'd recommend trying it out before going to 4, because it will look bad in comparison. |

With the most recent DLC, I'm back on State of Decay. The defense/survival of Daybreak is interesting, but really hard to solo as the AI is kinda stupid on prioritizing targets if there are any wall breaches. I tried once with randos, but I had a super laggy connection to the host and kept shooting at zombies that were already dead or in a different spot by the time I actually fired.

Just platinum'd Spider-Man. All the reviews are correct. Some of the tasks can get a touch repetitive and it takes longer than you'd like to learn the controls but it's really good. The story is like watching a movie. That part is great. Loved that I could turn off the puzzles and quick time events.

I have a friend who outside of Reach, has never played a Halo Game, so I've been basically going thru the the series with him, just finished the original and got to Halo 2 (Which I've never beaten myself tbh) and God Damn, they really went all out on the remastering. I wasn't expecting the visuals and cutscenes to look that amazing. Gonna be weird going for a High Res Halo 2 to Halo 3 which is a Early Xbox 360 Game.

8 hours into Ni No Kuni 2.
The game has now become all about kingdom building, which seems pretty good so far. I have to recruit people via sidequests and assign them to jobs, then you can research new equipment / tactics / pikmin etc when you have high enough skilled workers. Its oddly familiar and given what has happened over the past 8 hours I would not at all be surprised if my cute chibi townsfolk go insane and violently murder each other thanks to vocal chord parasites.
