Fighting with My Family 8/10 once you get over the timeline inaccuracies (Paige gets her first tryout at "Smackdown Live" and all the WWE logos used are the newer logo for instance, the movie itself was decent and didn't feel like WWE had it's hands all over it.

Green Book - 9/10....really enjoyed it. I'm sure they took liberties with the story, but it was good. Funny yet dramatic.

What was it I read today about Green Book on Cracked?
"A symphony of lies" apparently, and Mahershala Ali has apologised to Don Shirley's family over his portrayal. |

Apparently Viggo Mortensen teaches him how to eat fried chicken and enjoy soul music.
Thank God he was there to help him. |

You have convinced me.
Poor oblivious Don Shirley, completely unaware of popular music and cuisine. |

Journey's End - 3.5/4
A stripped down WW1 dialogue-driven film with minimal action and great emphasis on tone, atmosphere and fantastic use of what little it has. This is the sort of war film you would get from a director in the forties and fifties - no budget but a great script and access to proven talent. This is no romantic rehash, nor is is dispassionate and cold. Unusually it is a heartfelt and realistic homage to men who's days were numbered and who's emotions were strained beyond temper. Heavy going and incredibly unforgiving, a companion to Gallipoli in it's ability to infuriate and appal. |

Paddleton was extremely on the nose... Ray Romano puts in one of the all time great performances though so if you can handle the concept prepare for the old cliche that comedians do drama better than anybody.
I'd find it hard to fault the film, in fact it was honest and excellent in every way. I just did not like the way it made me feel nor the inevitability of the outcome. It is a hard film to rate for that reason. I doubt I would ever watch it again despite the unassailable brilliance of Ray Romano's turn. He really is magnificent in it, I actually went in thinking Mark Duplass would steal the show yet again but this was all Romano. Mark Duplass is on a crazy run of productivity lately. I hope he doesn't burn out or go nuts because he's the sort of guy any aspiring writers should look at. He's great. |

Alita: Battle Angel - 3/5
Never seen the original anime so I really can't give an accurate basis for a review. But, I was bored and wanted to get out of the house. It was "okay". Probably safe to say it was better than Ghost in the Shell? |

Jaws 4, The Revenge does it for me.
Michael Caine emerges from water completely dry. Mario Van Peebles at one point says "Michael stop bustin' ma boogie!" to the protagonist. It has everything. |

Fighting with my Family-7/10
Not the propaganda wwe film I thought it be. Pretty decent character movie, with Paige's brother Zack easily being the most intriguing and layered of characters. The wrestling stuff was unsurprisingly campy, but it didn't make a joke out of it, and the cast did a good job of making good on their lines. Enjoyed it much more than expected even tho it fluffs the fuck out of Paige. |

Glass 4/10 totally unnecessary, boring for 90% of the movie.

Can only feel sympathy for a few of these people... some of them come off terribly because they endangered their kids. The blonde should be too ashamed of herself to be in this. Terrible mother.

I don't want to victim blame here but this guy was shooting fish here until the fish started growing arms and pulling the trigger themselves.
This Deborah woman was trying to commit suicide by marriage essentially. She's just as nuts as him. |

Watched that Hired Gun documentary about studio musicians. It's all fine fare but but why the fuck are they lionising Quiet fucking Riot of all people?
Quiet Riot are a fifth rate Slade cover band. I'm too bothered by the effusive praise for such a terrible band to continue the movie now. |

Fighting With My Family - 9/10
I thought it was good. Lots of heart and humor. There's some liberties taken for narrative purposes, but that's to be expected. My least favorite part was probably the end when Paige debuts on the main roster. All the stuff w/ her and her family is solid, great chemistry between the actors. I enjoyed it! |

Guru Dave you should watch "Jeff Who Lives At Home" if you haven't already. It's yet another Duplass bro's movie, one with plentiful whimsy.

Greta - 7.0/10
Isabelle Huppert is the best part of the movie, as always she is bouncing off the walls fascinating to watch. Didn't love the movie, Didn't hate the movie. Some plot issues put it in the middle. |
